Well I often seem to make unnecessary comments and maybe this will be a few more. Nothing personal meant to anyone but I for one know more about the risks involved than most and I also know the amout of work that esb is putting into this step-over. Anybody who has been involved in the loss of a website knows how much pain that does after all the time put unto setting it up. esb is doing the only sensible thing possible. Waiting until the boat has sunk is not the way to go. So folks, if you just go and register on the new site this weekend, the step-over on Monday will be painless. At this moment more than 200 people have taken the step and I see many of the regulars there already. Just a few statistics... the current membership is 1237. Of these 309 have never posted, 385 have posted less than 6 times and 147 less than 11 times. That leaves 396 people with a reasonable, to large, to abnormally excessive number of posts. More than the half of this last group have registered. And that's the group we need to keep this forum going. Sounds good to me. You talkin to me Malc?

Better doing it now than in 6 months or 3 years time. I expect that a lot of those who haven't registered yet will do so. There may also be a lot of people with over 11 posts from other clubs. That said it's been very quiet on here over the last couple of days. Are you having a grand opening of the new forum?

so farewell then yellows forum, and welcome to yellows forum. Having had some experience of websites I know how much work will have gone into this guys, many thanks. TIU was something we got used to, and it was there during the dark, dark days. I was sorry to see it go, but much prefer the now "home" Hopefully yellows forum 2 will chart the progress of the club as we go onwards and upwards, and as a result I would expect to see most of the old lags sign up and make their usual erudite contributions. I signed up, but as I understand we are all going to start from the dreaded "new member" status as all the old posting activity counts for naught! Bit sad about that. Onwards and upwards.

maybe it might be a good idea to make the forum only viewable if you have an account. it may encourage more people to sign up... just a thought though.

I dont think this is fair, people should be able to view everything without needing to sign up. Id rather have 400 people signed up who post than an xtra 800+ that dont
