Lets not get carried away and put the weight of our expectations on Steve's shoulders, lets just roar them on and see what happens.. We still have the defence of a mid table team !!At the moment I agree. 19 games without a clean sheet doesn't look good. We need a settled back four. The two full backs worry me at times.

Kinni and Macca, it's good having Rangers as our feeder club. Wonder if they'll dump anybody like the then young kenny miller again? I always thought that was a poor decision, we'll have any table scraps like that if they've got 'em.

Well, one reason our defence sometimes may get caught out is because our full backs get forward and attack so much. Maybe we're looking like the sort of team with the attitude that if you score two, we'll score three. Is that a bad thing or does a promotion side require more solidity at the back?

Take out the attacking options in the team and we might keep more clean sheets, but would we then go back to struggling to score again? It's much more 'fun' watching higher scoring wins with the occassional loss, than it is watching boring 1-0 wins and scoreless draws.

We haven't drawn for 16 games. Of those, we have won eight and drawn eight. So 24 points.
If we'd have drawn them all, we would be unbeaten since September, but would have only won 16 points - which would have put us about 8 places lower in the table.
I think our defence is greatly improved by having Maclean offer some protection just in front, and Tonkin's improved form is another good sign. I think we will break our clean sheet hoodoo on Saturday.

Hardly 'high scoring wins' though is it? 5 of the last 6 wins have been 2-1, the other 4-3. All by the odd goal and some of them with a fair bit of luck going our way. High scoring wins to me are where you beat the opposition by 2/3 clear goals. You can have plenty of attacking options and a tight defence.

We have averaged 2 goals a game over the last 7. The one (and only) time we did that over a complete season was 1985! So I would say it's quite high scoring. You can have attacking options and a tight defence... but it's much more likely to be a more attacking if your fullbacks are of the type that get forward as opposed to those that mainly sit. That's just plain common sense.

i am sure we (the fans) have played a major part in retaining MacLean's services for the remainder of the season, we are currently averaging around 7250 which must be way above the original budgeted expectations at the start of the season, the money we got for the West Ham cup game paid for Craddock, an extra 1250 fans coming through the turnstiles on our probable budgeted crowd puts another £15000+ into the club every 2 weeks or so ........................... EI, EI, EI O UP THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE WE GO WHEN WE WIN PROMOTION THIS IS WHAT WE SING WE ARE THE OXFORD WE ARE THE OXFORD WILDER IS OUR KING

For the record we kept 19 clean sheets that season with two attacking full backs, Langan and McDonald! This side hasn't kept a clean sheet for 19 games, no comparison.

I think that all this beano chatter is pure speculation, I read the other day that Charlie Adam is just brushing it off his shoulders....Beano won't leave....my gut instinct is saying CW will start with a prong 3 attack... Craddy, Maclean, Beano. MacLean will he sign at the end of the season, I really think that we can push for automatics or play-offs, our team is more settled now.
