Yeah they are a bit special arnt they!!
They are going to murder Arsenal in the CL, in fact i cant see anyone that can stop them winning that competition, and they basically have La Liga wrapped up.
Great to watch.

Arsenal if you believe our own Arsenal supporters on here are gonna win the prem league, and champions league and cups, both of them. Even the Carling cup is far from guaranteed and they are just poor in comparison to the mighty Barca.......

Great to watch. Inter sorted them out last season. They are great on the eye and few teams could beat them on a pure footballing level but if teams are so naieve that they go in trying to out football them then they deserve all they get. They can be out muscled and disrupted and their flow stalled but its more likely to be a stubborn Italian side or possibly Chelsea or Man U on their day who will have the ability to kill the game, snatch one and sit tight. It can, and I believe will be, done in the champions league this season but I dont think its in Arsenals make up to be able to do this. I can see a couple of hefty Barcelona victories but with Arsenal scoring a few goals over the two legs. Arsenal 2 Barcelona 3 Emirates Barcelona 6 Arsenal 2 Nou Camp

Agree they willl murder Arsenal. They would murder any other team but I think Arsenal particularly will be put to the sword by them because they play a similar game but not nearly as well.
This is the best football team there has ever been in my opinion. Might sound a bit OTT, but honestly can you think of any team from any era that were as good as this?

I can see a couple of hefty Barcelona victories but with Arsenal scoring a few goals over the two legs. Arsenal 2 Barcelona 3 Emirates Barcelona 6 Arsenal 2 Nou Camp I think you're underestimating Barcelona's defence in those predictions. Arsenal will have to do some VERY special to beat Barcelona's back line, compounding by Mascerano/Busquets. Not only that, but in all likelihood, Arsenal will see very little of the ball, so good are Barcelona at retaining possession, and Arsenal are hardly known for doing well with very few chances. Also, Barcelona beat Real Madrid 5-0 this season. Arsenal will have to do very well to get one goal against them at the Nou Camp, let alone 2. Also, Barcelona are better this season than they were last. The introduction of David Villa makes them the best attacking force in Europe, and neither an on form Chelsea nor an on form Man United could compete with them, no matter how they played.

Didnt man u play the same team and not let in a goal? A year later only losing the final as Sir Darren wasn't playing ...

True that someone could do an Inter type performance, but even in those two games, particularly the one at the Nou camp Inter were very very lucky. Unlikely that barcalona will not have learnt from that experience
I fancy them to beat Arsenal home and away convincingly, as Amarillo and Baldy say, Arsenal will try and out football them and that wont work.
I honestly dont see anyone getting close to them this season, i mean look at when Real Madrid went to the Nou Camp, they were totally outplayed.

Not sure a half decent jock would make the differance! As for Man U playing the same team and not letting in a goal, when was that, certainly not recently and this team have really peaked in the last 2 years. Not being anti Man U here, but i hope they do meet in the semi's or final, if they do i think you may see a very one sided game again.

Man utd of 99 were better all round IMO Come on, you can't seriously believe that. Yes they won the treble, but Bayern were robbed in the final. The current Barcelona side would have absolutely wiped the floor with that team.

It's all ifs and maybes ...
Man utd did a job on them h&a with the same team barca have now...
Man utd and fergie know how to play barca... The final was one of them, when ronaldo decided to be the 1 man band that saf had fought long and hard against...

The current Barcelona team is far better than it was then - despite much of the team remaining the same
I think Man Utd would be better equiped to stop Barca now than most others, but it is not a case of Ferguson "knowing" how to play them. If they play as they currently are, there is nothing anyone can do to stop them.

Messi, Xavi and Iniesta are all better, they have busquets and mascerano, and of course, david villa.

Villa or etto.. Same player, both class.. Why can't you appreciate the job over 2 legs ( they didn't score once ) did on them?

And I can appreciate that, who said I can't? That's not the point and I think you realise you're dodging the point that man united are worse than they were back then, and Barcelona are better.

No point missed here...
Are they better, Or is la liga weaker? Everyone says the p'ship is weaker but why not la liga? Can you see man utd , cfc giving barca the time and space they require to play the game they play?

Can you see man utd , cfc giving barca the time and space they require to play the game they play? Real madrid aren't weaker, and Barcelona beat them 5-0. And it's a myth that Barcelona need time and space to play. They create all that they need for themselves. I think the problem is that we're used to seeing teams (i.e. Arsenal) that play pretty football need a wide open space in the middle of the park to play it. If you watch Barcelona, what makes them so impressive (at least this season) is that they do it in literally no space at all. Against a 5 man midfield, right on the edge of the opposition penalty box, in the middle of it, even in their own penalty box. While it certainly helps to close them down, it far from neutralises them - it's the difference between an embarassment (i.e. 5-0) and a respectable loss (2-0). That said, some teams have enough quality to pull this shutdown operation off, but that's rare (i.e. Inter Milan, although they only just managed it, and I'm not sure they would this year) and of course Barcelona have bad days. It's more a question of that second part than anything else, if Barcelona are on top of their game, no team in the world can match them.

I actually think the only way to beat this Barca side is something akin to what Chelsea tried two years ago (which should've worked). Bully them, plain and simple, and hope for a lenient ref.
Thing is, the team that does that has to combine pace and strength with a lot of quality. And I'm not sure that team exists this season......

I think people are overplaying this Barcelona side. Yes they are very good.
Didn't win the CL last year though did they. Inter Milan showed they could be beaten, and arguably that treble-winning Inter team was a better team but you don't see people calling it the best team ever.
As for the players, Messi, Iniesta and Xavi are brilliant. But the likes of Valdes, Abidal and Pedro aren't world class.
Look at La Liga as well - Barca have lost 1 and drawn 1. Madrid have lost 1 and drawn 2. Hardly a huge difference there - and they are still to play at the Bernebau, where I'd be very suprised if it was another 5-0.
This so called best team ever might end up winning nothing this year. Unlikely I know, and I think they'll probably win the double, but winning La Liga isn't that special really with only 2 good teams, and the CL looks weak this year with Chelsea, Inter, AC and Man Utd all looking weaker than usual.
