to put the toilets in the smoking room behind the East Stand.
Yesterday saw more smokers in the toilets than ever before and you actually had to barge past smokers to use the toilets.
I wish the cluib would actually do something about it rather than put out pointless announcements over the PA saying they are clamping down on it while actually doing nothing at all

That was because, the smokers who go outside at half time, were told by the steward who stands in the corner of the OxMail and North stand during game, that if they stayed out there any longer (this was within 5mins into half time) they'd be locked out for rest of the game. They all joked that they'd join the other smokers in the toilets then. Steward didn't do anything.
Tbh if you can't go 2hours without a smoke, you have a problem.

its not just smokers,i was stood behind a woman in the que for tea in the north stand and her perfume was really strong....can perfume be banned as well? if you can't go to a footy match without wearing perfume you've got a problem.

I resent having to go over 2 hours without hitting up, there really should be a smack/general drug taking room

On a serious note, have any of the club management actually been into the east stand toilets to understand why people are so annoyed by this?
It's quite frankly ridiculous and I imagine driving alot of people away frmo going as regularly to games.

Its a ridiculius situation
Either make arrangements for smokers by opening the gates at half time or enforce the no-smoking rules properly. The former would be a lot easier because the kind of person who smokes in the toilets at half-time is by definition someone who doesn't like being told what to do, so would require a fair few extra stewards/security to chuck them out.

SSL (family/fence end) has no problems with smokers in the toilets ( ... well not that I can speak for what goes on in the ladies)- Im a smoker btw, and IF there was a designated smoking area ( there ARE 4 open air corners) I'd top up on nicotine at half time, not being a designated area for smoking, I go in the ground between 10 and 5 min before kick-off and, soon as the final whistle sounds Im invariably reaching for a ciggy and heading for the nearest exit... I can manage a few hours without the need to generously subsidise my non smoking fellow yellows fans tax bills buy burning tobaccaco therefore paying (by choice) high amounts of duty on tobacco products. Simple answer to toilets in the smoking room under the east stand is perhaps to use the facilities or take a comfort break before you go in the ground? - as a smoker I CAN go 2 hours without a ciggy, all these pissers and shitters in the east stand who are complaining really should be able to control their bladders and colons for two hours too... shouldnt they?

It's surely in the club's interest to keep both the smokers and non-smokers happy? Easy solution - exactly what Bury are doing. All the smokers outside in one place, leaving the toilets to smell of whatever they did before it was smoke.

A non smoker myself, I see no reason why the open areas in the 4 corners (yes there are 3 sides & 4 corners) cannot be used before the match & at half time.
Unless it is a Stadco responsibility to provide suitable signs, fencing etc - in which case - forget it - they will pay for nothing, I`m told.
E.G the simple solution to the South East touch line getting churned up - is astroturf strips outside the lines ....I doubt they would pay for that - cos its `outside the playing surface`
However....The East Stand goal is very bad at the moment - but as part of the playing surface should be within Stadcos responsibility??

Point missed entirely. Toilets are for one thing (or maybe two) and its not for smoking. I detest smoking but agree that an area should be found. But until it does the club need to act to stop smoking in the toilets They don't have a choice because its against the ground regulations

A man should be able to have a piss in a pleasant environment, free from the stench of stale tobacco and cigarette fumes.

Depends on a number of thngs. A passionate fan / season ticket holder - probably not. A part timer - may influence their general feel about the matchday experience so if they're waivering, things like incessant smoke / rainy day all play a part Irregulars, potential future fans, etc may think itss not an atmosphere they enjoy or want to get used to.

Surely all this would be tempered by the fact we're on a run of four wins and 9th in the league.
