Good luck to Luton tonight.
Anyone rather than that bunch of fans that abandoned their club and decided to make up a new one, before destroying the ambitions and seasons of many a lower league team by buying their way up the leagues.

I'd much rather see these two go up than the fat fraudsters mob.

Ideally I'd like Crawley to go up as champions - best footballing side in that division by a mile.
Newport through the play offs would be great for the area but I'd be just as happy if Wimbledon made it.
Anybody bar Luton. Let those ***** rot down there for a few more seasons yet.

Bit harsh. How would you feel if OUFC cut all ties with Oxford and moved 60 miles away?

Wimblewho? Everyone knows the real Dons are in Milton Keynes, where they were given sanctuary when no-one else gave a flying f**k about them.

Wouldn't happen as we wouldnt abandon our club to crowds of 3000 in the Premier League, They had it coming and got what they deserved. They tried to play the moral high ground once they'd taken the low road already.

If Oxford had a minute fan base, had no ground and didn't play in Oxford would you be surprised if that happened?

If Oxford had a minute fan base, had no ground and didn't play in Oxford would you be surprised if that happened? Size of fan base is irrelevant. No-one abandoned the old Wimbledon - they only ever had a small fanbase, doesn't mean those fans weren't loyal. If you support your local team and then they get moved to another city then I think those loyal fans are entitled to be pissed off. A better analogy would be if the Thames Valley Royals thing had happened. Would we have gone along with that? or started Oxford United up again from scratch? In my view AFC WImbledon is the old club. MK Dons is a new one. To me what defines a football club is the supporters and the community that it represents not the official legal entity.

Ahh, but Oxford and Reading had enough fans and fan power won the day in that case.

Difference being they had few fans, but those few fans deserted the club way before anything had actually happened. They made it inevitable rather than fighting for their cause. Of course, they had so little willpower, that the club was set to go defunct anyway without something dramatic. I guess there was a choice.

Let's get one thing clear here - The only people who deserted Wimbledon were the owners - who decided to treat their loyal supporters with contempt by uprooting and moving the team to Milton Keynes. There was even talk of them moving to Ireland! Although this may work in American Football, Baseball etc with the various franchises that they have, but it doesn't work in football.
A football team is for the community, and that was ripped away from them by their owners, so the supporters quite rightly said, "F**k you. I'm not having that. We're starting up our own club". And for that, they should be applauded.

Has someone got an accurate account of what actually occured and when, because it was a while ago now and I can't recall. All I do remember is one minute they were Wimbledon the next they were MK Dons! If anything similar occurs at our club I hope our fans break away as well!

They then did a Kassam like act on the fans of Kingstonian, another small club struggling to make ends meet.

Not sure how you classify 'uprooted', Wimbledon didn't play in Wimbledon, they left Plough Lane donkeys years before and existed from a portakabin in Selhurst Park, they were like a homeless tramp walking the streets. They were a club ripe for franchise
