I'll admit I laughed when I got the text but I'll throw it out there so that if it does happen, I can act all smug and in the know.
Apparently (and I take this with a truck load of salt), Liverpool have agreed a fee and terms for Luis Suarez of handball fame. Due to have a medical tomorrow, maybe.
It's now doing the rounds on Twitter (means nothing) and an unknown journalist from ESPN has said it. Whether my man has got the rumour from a stronger source than that I don't know but there we are. Silly rumour for the day. Place next to Ronaldinho on the failed shelf at the end of tomorrow please.
In more concrete news, Steve Clarke will be assistant manager within 48 hours. I say concrete, I think this one is true

The original bloke from ESPN has now deleted his tweet. My rumour of the day has barely passed the embryonic stage, let alone made it to the stage of rampant rumour. I'll try harder next time.

Sam Allardyce get them relegated? Blackburn are a top-half championship side at best without him, and he's kept them in the mid-table of the premiership for a fair amount of time up until his sacking, and Bolton before that. Can't think of a much better manager for the job...

They dislike the kind of football they play at that matters more to a lot of them than the result.

Blackburn are a top-half championship side at best without him Justify that statement. Since his sacking, they've drawn with West Ham, been shut out 2-0 by Stoke, narrowly beaten QPR and been thrashed by Sunderland. In isolation, those aren't too condemning, but bring them together and then look at Blackburn's squad. Perhaps I exaggerated, but Allardyce had them easily overperforming up until he was sacked, including a narrow defeat to Chelsea who were still in form at the time.

My point wasn't that West Ham would like him, but bringing in Allardyce seems like a positive step away from relegation, not a desperate bid to get relegated as suggested.

You conveniently forget that the beat Liverpool and WBA away, which was their first league away win this season. The lost all but one, which they drew, under Big Sam. 7-1 against United was embarresing. If anything results have improved under Kean. www.rovers.co.uk/page/Fixtures/

Were they without Gerrard too? Yes, the Man United match was embarassing, but the Bradford match was embarassing, and Wilder's still here and under a lot of praise. You can't pick him up too much on that. In no way have Blackburn's results picked up under Kean. Blackburn finished 10th last season, the form guide says they're 12th (6 matches, about the time he's been in charge), the table says they're 9th i.e. their current performance is worse than the performances they've previously had. There is room for error in there, but speaking from a personal point of view too, I don't think you'll find a massive amount of Blackburn fans who disagree with me that the sacking of Allardyce was a mistake. Even say you're right. Does that mean by appointing Allardyce West Ham are looking more likely to be relegated? No. Allardyce has a history of taking teams in danger and helping them survive, and that's what I'm questioning.

Big Sam has a great record and would be a top addition. I was taking exception to your attitude towards Steve Kean, who has done a fine job.

That would be a hell of a signing for Liverpool, given their current predicament.
His goalkeeping antics at the world cup have overshadowed the fact that he is an absolutely top player. Would be a great signing for anyone but a real coup for a team that won't even make the Champions league.
