Been an Oxford United fan for over 30 years, seen us win at Wembley twice, been there for 4 promotions and enjoyed some great cup runs. I remember the struggle we had to get a new ground built that would allow us to progress. I do not contribute on the forums as often as I used to. I don't come to as many games, but still love my football. So much so that I became a Director of my local club Poole Town. We play step 5 Wessex League and have been champions the last 2 season by 15 and 18 points, but denied promotion on ground grading. We are seeking to build a new stadium and need comments of support on the Poole Borough Website. This is an appeal from one fan to another to ask you to spare 5 mins of your time to complete the attached form and support our bid. You do not need to be a resident of Poole to comment: www.poolebaymedia.co.uk/Poole-Town-FC-Planning-Application_Poole-Town-FC-Planning-App.htmlWe need as many comments of support as possible by Fri 7th Jan If you want to know more about our plans visit our website www.pooletownfc.co.ukOr spcifically our plans www.pooletownfc.co.uk/canford.htmlThanks in anticipation and lets hope I can celebrate success for both my teams again this season. PS - For those of you that remember Stuart Douglas, who was on loan briefly many a year ago, he is on our books. Two players from the Dorchester side that we hammered in the cup are on our books, one (Taffy Richardson) still playing at 44 years old, the other is the goals scorer in that 9-1 match and our Manager Tommy Killick. One of our other Directors was also on the books at the Manor at the time of the Atkinsons.

Will certainly have a look at that later tonight. I too have followed Oxford for a long time since 1969 in fact and am in touch with others who have followed them for even longer. My memory of Poole Town is when they played at Chelmsford City at New Writtle Street back in the sixties and we won 7-0 Good luck

Thanks pd. More trivia for you. Poole Town were once a very successful NL side with what was boasted to be the largest supporters club in England (at the time) with most of the town (poulation 147,000) members. They sought election the the FL the year that OUFC were successful. They secured just 2 votes. Wilf Manion played for Poole.

Well I hope you have a good sell on clause for Charlie Austin when he leaves Sw*ndon this month.
Rumours of a seven figure fee reported so I sincerely hope the Poole Town directors negotiated at healthy sell on clause of >25%

grampa simpson - I can confirm that he was recommended and offered to OUFC before STFC. It hurt that only one of those clubs showed an interest. I will say no more than that. could you blame those fans wanting to see an oldboy play at Wembley? I can confirm that some of those on the coach made amends when they also watch OUFC at Wembley shortly afterwards.
Super Ox - Do not worry, all taken care of!
Otto - Many Thanks.

I live in Poole and go down to watch Poole Town every now and again and they are a great side who deserve to be in a higher league. There are a few Oxford fans in Poole it seems!

So Oxford fans supported Millwall? I would support Millwall if they were playing the Scum.

For those that have supported our efforts, many thanks. They still seem to be logging comments even though the deadline has passed, so if you have not yet and would like to, please go ahead. For those interested, here is some footage of the PTFC Vasge game against Wantage: www.isstv.tv/video/126/poole-town-vs-wantage-town
