I think it is time some congratulations were shown to the people who have put enormous effort into the success of the Youth Charity. These are the people who re-introduced the lottery, organised the charity games etc etc.
Then if my memory serves me well, we had a strong group of supporters who ran the organisation before it changed its format. Credit to those people too who also raised serious sums of money.
WPL haven't funded it completely out of their own pockets and to suggest they have shows a lack of respect to the team of people who have worked boody hard in recent years.
Back to the topic......the problem in my opinion lies with a stagnent group of people who have treaded water, things need to change from top to bottom. We need people who scout youth football and sell the benefits of OUFC to these kids before they end up at clubs in surrounding counties.

You're making some strong comments here. Which people are 'stagnant'? then. Personally Mr 'Raggles' I see a lot of hard working people doing thier best with a limited budget.
This is not an easy one. It's all very well saying that there must be some group of evangelists selling the benefits of OUFC to young footballers across the region but when that very club has been rotting down in Div 5 for 4 seasons you would need to be some sort of miracle worker to get the really good kids into our setup. Hopefully this attitide will change as we continue our steady progress at senior level.
It's too soon for anyone to conclude that the youth end of a club is a dog. EG it took many many years for that paragon of lower league 'academies' Crewe Alex to develop their reputation.

I did make the point that a lot of credit and praise should go to people who have worked very hard (I know a few of them) both past and present, raising monies and improving revenue streams keeping that part of the business running.
The players are simply not coming through and we have not had one player establish himself for some time. Brookes, Ricketts and Deano were the last and that was nearly a decade ago.
I think that is an area of concern.
