Went to this yesterday. Absolute garbage first half with football no better than the worst I've seen in L2. Second half much more exciting and 2-2 a fair result.
Amazed at the lack of atmosphere from the 27,500 home fans, although the 3,500 Leeds supporters were loud and impressive.
I kid you not, Leicester have fewer singers than we do! The crowd only got excited when they scored to make it 1-2 then 2-2. And they booed the team off at half-time when it was 0-1. All very reminiscent of many Oxford home games.
Anyone else take a match in?

I was hoping to go down to Banbury v Brackley for the local derby today, but of course, it's bloody off!

Went to Leicester v Forest a few weeks ago and had a very similar experience - and this for a local derby! No one stood, which I found incredible, no singing or atmosphere of any kind and in the first ha;f the football was awful, a really poor experience. I couldn't believe it before the match when they for some reason saw fit to play crowd noise through the PA system to 'create an atmosphere'!

I went to the old Filbert Street a few times and even then not much atmosphere, singing, etc. Its suprising how some of the big "clubs" just dont have it.
But Leeds are having a great following again. For the recent Burnley vs Leeds game, took over 5,000 to make capacity crowd of over 20,000.
Dont think it will be long before they are back in the Premiership. Hopefully they will be realistic this time rather than overspend

Take a trip to Welford Road for atmosphere in Leicester.

But if Oxford went up to the Championship and then had 20,000 - 25,000 attendances (let's assume we built a 4th stand) i'd imagine it would be exactly the same here, no?

If we are on a roll and playing like we did against Leeds and Leicester in the late eighties we could easily get between 20-25000

Guess the 4th could be a bit of a kop and be huge though to get us to that kind of capacity

Was it not 25-000 with corners and 4th stand? 15-000 with just 4th stand...

Was it not 25-000 with corners and 4th stand? 15-000 with just 4th stand... So your suggesting that a full new stand will only hold 2,500 fans but we can fit a further 10,000 fans in the corners (that's nearly the whole capacity of the current set up!) No way can I see that
