Thankfully for this forum, I found out Franks has gone and Baker left weeks ago. Appreciated that Steve Evans informed us that Bulman was joining Crawley at the turn of the year.
I actually already knew most of that before it hit the forum but it would have been nice if the official website had reported it (looking forward to the usual suspects having a pop at me).

It looks like we will be seeing a repeat of last season. Wilder still dont know his best squad.

Indeed, another day out at Wembley would be nice. Isn't Wilder just looking to improve the squad constantly?

Indeed, another day out at Wembley would be nice. Isn't Wilder just looking to improve the squad constantly? Yes, CW is always looking to improve his squad (he has said so enough times) and I would expect every other manager is also. The players going out had either always been squad players (Baker who was coming to the end of his contract anyway), become squad players (Day, Beast, Bully and LSD) either through their own fault (LSD, if rumours of being late etc are true) or CW, in his opinion, has replaced them with better players. As for Leigh Franks, I believe he is injured and his loan was finishing in early Jan anyway. Pity as he showed good potential but it depends on what Huddersfield wanted for him for the rest of the season and beyond. For me, this sort of clear out was always going to happen this season. Imo, some players for CW were borderline as to whether good enough to keep OUFC going forward. Some didn't make the grade for him and he has allowed them to leave.

Agreed Marked.
Only teams who got promoted empahtically will really have a full team good enough for the league above. It's no good pining over Bulman, Creighton, Deering etc. just because they were popular; the fact of the the matter is they have been deemed by our manager as not good enough. He knows a lot better then anybody on here, even if you still disagree with him getting rid of Jamie Guy, Phil Trainer, Yemi, Foster, Nelthorpe. and just about everyone he's released and been criticised for. We are in a better position than we were when these were at our club so that would show that the gaffer was right, wouldn't it?
We're not working on an endless budget are we?

I actually already knew most of that before it hit the forum but it would have been nice if the official website had reported it (looking forward to the usual suspects having a pop at me). We seem mostly to find out about player moves either after another team has said something (Evans & Bulman, Saunders & Creighton), or there is some inside knowledge gossipped on here. Later the official website might get updated. Even the 5 players out-on-loan being unlikely to return gets reported first on the BBC website from apparently a RadOx interview with Wilder. Whilst reporting every player going on loan might be too negative, we get to hear about it in the long run anyway. A few mentions of players being watched or playing on trial would be nice. I consider communications from club to fans on news stories could be improved, instead we get plenty of fairly unenlightening player interviews and match previews, which get summarised from YellowPlayer audio/video a day later (a YellowPlayer exclusivity requirement I think).

I seem to remember that all the loans apart from Midson and Deering were described as "loans with a view to a permanent transfer"
