Paul Moody opened the scoring in the first half with a free header in the box, followed up with a second from Stuart Massey. The next four came in the second half and in front of the London Road, with headers from Moody (again), David Rush, Joey Beauchamp, and finally Matt Murphy to leave the Manor rocking and the fans feeling optimistic about promotion. Home 05/06www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PwCATt6Djk Date: 07/01/06 Venue: Kassam Stadium Attendance: 3702 Result: Lost 0-3 Brian Talbot's atrocious Oxford side played out a relegation six-pointer with Shrewsbury who were just three points below us in front of an incredibly low crowd of 3702 (at the time the lowest crowd ever for a league match at the Kassam Stadium), as morale reached an all-time low. The match started disastrously, and the clubs were on level terms for just 90 seconds before Shrewsbury took the lead and never looked back. It stayed that way until 7 minutes from the end, when Shrewsbury doubled their lead, and they added another just before the final whistle. It could have been worse, if not for Chris Tardif playing a blinder, saving a penalty and making numerous important saves (such as the one featured in the video above).
