Bizarrely, I read somewhere earlier that Dean Saunders may be in line for the Sheff Utd job, not very ambitious on their part!!

I would'nt worry about Wilder being wanted by any club. With the opportunity he was given at Oxford he has yet to prove his worth and I think any other manager would have done a damn sight better with the support and facitilities on offer. Yes with promotion he got out of jail but it could easily have gone so very very wrong.
He is riding his luck at the moment and a vast improvement in so many aspects will have to be shown if he wants to keep his job here, let alone at other clubs.
Sheffield United? your 'aving a larf!

Think you maybe in the minority with your thoughts here! Lets see how we've done at the end of this season. If we even get near the play offs, then to my mind he'll have done a cracking job and will be worth his weight in gold for next season's promotion push! Theres a long way to go this season and I think as of now were only 5 pts of the play offs!!

Theres a long way to go this season and I think as of now were only 5 pts of the play offs!! And 4 pts off the drop zone. It's amazingly open. Whilst CW obviously has a huge amount of credit in the bank for getting us up, on this season's performance the jury is surely very much out on his ability to manage in the league.

I think we can say that not just any other manager would have done better the Wilder so far this season (thinking about some of more recent managers would tend to prove this). I think eran you are being rather harsh here, especially given the fact that we have such a good squad that should be doing better is in itself an indication of some positive skill on the part of Wilder.
However I also think come the end of the season mere survival should NOT be viewed as some sort of achievement. For a club our size and facilities we should be aiming and easily able to achieve targets somewhat higher. I agree that should we just survive Wilder should be given a further chance the following season (however should it look like we are in trouble later in the year we may have to reconsider things). However the season that follows must be one where we do indeed challenge for a play off place. Should we still be struggling then and we will need to seriously look at things.
So far Wilders report card this year is one that says ok but must try harder.
