Why do some people feel the need to inflict their politics on us via this forum?? I have my own strongly held views but I don't come on this forum to hear what fellow Ox fans think about students, Muslims, climate change, immigration or any of the other regurgitated Sun editorials that you see on here! Following football is a merciful break from all that malarkey, and there are zillions of websites for those who want the cut and thrust of political debate, usually in a more informed way. There have been threads speculating why people leave the forum - I'm sure that the amount of politicised non-sport stuff must be a factor in that. Please can it be moderated out??!

Why not just stear clear of the misc section, should be easy enough to do...

There is a simple self-moderation system in use already. If you don't want to read it, read another thread. Simple really. This is a forum for Oxford United fans, not a forum about Oxford United, an important distinction. As long as the political stuff is in the correct section, it shouldn't get in the way.

I have my bookmarks set for New Topics. I know we can self-moderate, it's just that sometimes the political stuff seems to outweigh the rest and it adds to the negative tone that people often complain about.

Wem - you seem a decent poster, but I can't support you on this one.
This site is not TiU where weak and infrequent moderation allowed extremists to get away with serious indiscretions for prolonged periods. The "political" discussions you refer to are about subjects in the news and it's right they should be debated.
That said, debate rarely turns into personal attacks, unlike many football-related threads involving Baldy, for instance.
Please join the debates and put your views forward, whatever they are. Or, alternatively, leave well alone but don't waste your time moaning about them.

If people weren't interested then there wouldnt be any responses.
I choose to only visit one forum and know that I will find a healthy mix of views and opinions. The beauty of our free media is that we can, and do, discuss all sorts of things. I'd only have a problem if the stuff was overtly inappropriate or flooded non-misc sections.

Personally I use the misc and national/international boards more than the Oxford United ones as I find there is more intelligent debate there. I imagine given their popularity that goes for a lot of others as well. Clearly in your case you should change the way you bookmark the site and just look in the relevant sections to you.

If you disagree with the comments on there you can always argue the case. If you don't feel like it you can always ignore it. That said there are plenty on here who are fed up to the teeth of the inarticulate rambling of the minority of one that can't spell, doesn't support Oxford and comes up with the same rubbish post after post

Now now now what's going on here? Give it up Danny! We now all know Otto / Danny are the same person. Did you really think you pesky kid(s) could get away with it with Inspector Archery of the Surete on your case? I think I've managed to piece together how Gavin reached his conclusion. Otto posted that Danny C was his multi and Gavin read it.
