Who looked the best of the new signings today? Who do you think will make it regularly into the starting 11?

Definitely Asa Hall, always in the right place at the right time breaking up play. Good on the ball aswell.

I thought both looked a bit lost in the first half, though they both improved greatly when the very narrow system was changed in the second half. Still settling in but since Hall seems to be the replacement for Murray I would guess he's the most likely to start. It also depends on how soon Clist will be fit as he was missed being a natural left footer.

Yesterdays game was the only one that I have seen so far, but i was generaly impressed with the new players especialy once we worked out how to compete with leicester.
For me the two center mids of Hall and Heslop worked together really well, Bully put in a good shift and passed it well from the holding position. Hall looks like a player with a good engine, breaking up play and getting involved in both boxes. Heslop showed good awareness of what was going on around him, finding space to recieve a pass and cutting out passes on many occasions.
Franks came on at half time and looked quite comfortable, Beast had to play on the left of the center backs second half and did ok, apart from a couple of times when franks gave him a pass to his left foot in tight situations.
Other than that Batt, Tonks and Green all did realy well, Clarke pulled off some good saves but I felt that his positioning and wall placement were at fault for the goal. I was sat right behind Clarke and it just didn't look correct.
Overall I thought we did well to get back into the game after Leicester had dominated for the first 35 mins and with our strong second half a draw was a fair result.

Heslop has disappointed me in the previous matches. And looks overweight. But second half yesterday he looked good, Hall has looked good. Gets forward well. Franks has impressed me more than Worley. And only being 18, looks a very good prospect. I like Cole, hopefully he'll stay fit. And we look more of a force going forward when him and Green are either side of Beano. Clist said in bar yesterday he'll be back full training in a weeks time. We have a very strong squad this year.

Reading the various reports I still haven't worked out quite where Bulman, Heslop and Hall played. I was starting to think that Heslop was the central holding midfield player with Bully on the right and Hall on the left - is this how we lined up?

Living up north haven't seen any preseason games yet. I'm a bit mystified by the Worley contract, when Franks seems to be the defender people are talking about more. Looking forward to seeing Cole and Heslop particularly.

Glad to have a decent forum again.
Thought Bullman had a good game (know he's not new!).
Was most interested in seeing Heslop really, as we need him to be the new Murray. Thought he did ok - he played deeper first half and swapped with Bullman second to allow him to get forward. Did well for the goal and looked an intelligent player.
Cole had a quiet half I thought.

Form what I've read the most encouraging thing is that there seems to be some genuine competition for places, particularly in the midfield and wide positions.
We also seem to have cover in defence with back-up for both full backs. We struggled last year when Batt went awol for a few weeks and Chapman looked like a midfielder filling in.
Will be good to have a first hand look tomorrow night.
