I keep reading on here about comments from CW after yesterdays monstrosity. I wasn't near a radio, so can anyone put here what was actually said?
Thanks

I remember nothing about the interview except one thing and that I'm not the sort to do word for word. Mick (my son) was supprised to say the leaste when I said "F**k off" to the radio. CW had just said something like "at least one positive fan".
As anyone who knows me knows: I'm not a boo boy, but at the moment non of us have got anything to actually be positive about! We've lost 5 in a row, we're two from the drop. I know: Tight league A few good results etc etc
But there is genuinely nothing to actually be positive about. Anyone feel free to be OPTIMISTIC, but that is quite different.
Those of us of a certain age and especially those who have followed the Us for 30 years + know it's rarely an easy ride: But don't ask us to be positive about a 5 game loosing streak even MrAngry was never that positive was he?

The point your missing out though was that he said that wryly, as if there was little to be positive about. He also understood that fans would be angry. Its easy to misquote and give a false impression, its far more difficult to be fair minded and provide a context. Its also possible to use the BBC listen again facility if you wish.

If it was meant wryly or with irony it did not come across.
I've always prided myself in reading what people say, being in sales it helps.
Whether you are right or I am right it does show you have the most important trit of a Us fan (as advocated by me) OPTIMISM.
Onwards and upwards!
