Has anyone had the pleasure of travelling on this train? If so what is it like?

Has anyone had the pleasure of travelling on this train? If so what is it like? Yes, and been on the different types - Nozomi, Hikari, Kodami (which is the older classical version). You mustn't call it the bullet train though - it is the Shinkansen which isn't as exciting as it sounds, just means new, fast train. It is pretty similar to high speed over here except a bit faster. And the trains are wider - 5 seats across. They added up all the delays for these trains over one year and found that the total delays for all trains combined - i.e. thousands of journeys - was 1min 14 seconds!

Yes, been on them as well as well as other Japanese trains. Very nice, although wouldnt call luxurious. Very fast and efficient, plenty of legroom, quiet and very clean.
They also have the equivilant of Shinkansen in Taiwan which is very good. In China, they have just launched a new train that goes at 370kmh, but in test runs broke the speed record. But in China, some of the local or intercity trains are horrible

The high speed (and I use the term in it's loosest sense) trains in England are quite slow in comparison to other parts of the world. I watched the TGV go past in France and it was bloody fast in comparison to England's efforts.

I'll wager it's cleaner than the train we went on to Hereford earlier this season. On that particular rattler, some kind person had actually taken a s**t on the toilet seat and then even kinder, had shut the toilet lid on the seat! It wasn't a pretty sight!

Going for a poo is natural, but going anywhere other than the toilet pan on a train, if you have to go while on a train is not acceptable. Or am I just wrong?

Went to the gents on one of those Virgin trains a little while back, the ones with the automatic doors - wandered out of the carriage, pressed the button to enter and the door opened giving me a splendid view of a massive turd in the sink. Aside from any moral judgements for a second - how does someone physically do that???

Thats the moral aspect out of the way.

Don't burglars do that when the burgle houses, but like all up the walls and stuff?
I once saw someone take a dump at Bristol Temple Meads station. On the platform and in broad daylight.
