Wilder and Thomas admitted over a week ago that the club have been in talks with Batt about extending his contract. Thought both would have been happy to just getting it signed. Any idea why we've offered him a new one now, and not any of the other key players who only have one year left on their contracts too? I agree about getting contracts signed be x mas of expering tho

Could be some interest in him from other clubs following his performance at Wembley. Certainly Magilton was very interested before he left QPR

He's just signed a two year extension - club text.
If anyone wants him they have to pay. Protecting assets again

Baker has til January Think we should leave these 4 to sweat til Christmas knowing they are playing for a new contract. Especially Bully as we know what a pumped up Dannie Bulman can do, yet when he is disinterested he is ineffective. Batt on the other hand is a confidence player and this boost will do him the world of good.

i am happy with this, when Batt joined us he was seen as a bit of a journey man having not spent more than a year at any of the 9 previous clubs but we have him by the end of this contract for nearly 4 years. it says something about the way the club treat him and the amount of respect and commitment he has for the club

I agree, I feel for all his potential and some decent play, Midson is no doubt playing for a contract this season. If he doesnt force his way into the team and contribute with a decent tally of goals I fear he may not get extended.

Exactly BGT. This was one of the main parts of Jack's game last season and he chipped in with some pretty big assists. Matt Green at Wembley anyone?

great news to see him sign, if he puts in more performances like last year then he'll almost certainly be attracting interest from clubs higher up the pyramid. as for the others with a year left i think its fair to say all of them are a bit of an unknown quantity at this level and giving themselves a chance to prove themselves in the league is a good and sensible decision.
