er.......yes........for far too long many forum members have had a poke at university groundstaff for being lazy, late ,incompetent at looking after the pitch..well just wanted to remind you...its their turn to reap reward.......suppose its payback time yes...and i am so pleased for them...i know it hurts...but get over it. The groundstaff took so much shit and it was undeserved and its good for them to be recognised for their efforts.
so its ok for you lot to have a go at them...but when they are defended and the pitch was recognised by the fa as being very very good...they cant have smile on their faces?..seems a little one sided to me................

You are seriously deluded. If you think that the University have done a great job then you might want to think back to last season's match against Hayes and Yeading. Thanks to your mates putting the sprinklers on the night before (on what was scheduled to be a freezing evening) the water froze on the pitch overnight and the club staff had to take emergency action through out the following day to allow the game to go ahead. So the Uni staff's mistake almost caused yet another postponement!
Lets not forget the standard of pitches we were up against last season before you brag about coming second in a non-league awards. The fact that the pitch got slaughtered for being in it's worst state for years by the local media, ex groundsmen, players, and a large percentage of fans would suggest that you are in a minority that think your mates/colleagues did a good job.

p.s...............up yours! Obviously they reviewed the ground on a particular day rather than through the season, and didnt take into accuont lost revenue in their KPIs for performance.

Ooh! Ooh! I've started a thread that no-one else has a chance of understanding which makes me POWERFUL, particularly as I'm having a go at fellow fans to boot. When I finally explain it I will be doing so in the persona of Mr Smug and won't miss an opportunity to abuse Ox fans further. Oh, and the fact that the premise of my thread is laughable ("appalling ground keeping team win award") just adds to the general merriment.

'A nice day' is a fair description of the weather on Christmas and Boxing Day last year.

It doesn't matter guys, anthony thinks there was some kind of conspiracy going on last season involving the media, the pundits, and the fans all claiming the pitch was shyte when really it was top notch. It came SECOND in the conf pitch awards after all!!!

They are after all experts in looking after the playing surface there, aren't they? ;D

What you mean the FA noticed that we have a nice flat area of green stuff so they recognised it as a pitch. Maybe the groundstaff could have recognised the white stuff that was appearing on it last December. The FA could not recognise a bunch of winners if they ran them over, look at the bunch of losers they sent to South Africa.

Indeed, they should be very proud that they caused OUFC to lose thousands of pounds due to their incompetence.

Oxford University are scum of the earth. They've crippled the City Centre businesses financially despite being worth hundreds of millions. They are the Firoz Kassam of this place.
So what? They can cut some grass and water it. Well done. I can do that too. Look at the people who work on golf courses of wimbledon - not that is what you call proper grass.
Shame the NFL is at Wembley today as the pitch will be tw@tted.

ha ha ha........you lot are so funny....... Not only are we funny but we also have brains, common sense and even a notion of humility. You could learn from all of us. Your appearance on here has only further damaged the reputation of the groundsman and the University. Well done Im sure theyre thankful to you.
