The member count is now up to 271 and it seems most of the regulars have now moved over to this forum. I'd say about 50% of those joined yesterday as well as word got around.
Well done Yellows for sorting the forum, hopefully it will go on to be the massive success TiU was.

Cheers lads!! Thanks very much. I first created this forum back in 2007, in that period when TIU kept crashing. At first quite alot of people used it, but then it died a death!! But now its gone absolutely manic!! and although its been hard work, its nice seeing everyone starting to come together again. Lets hope it becomes a success.

The thanks go to you and all involved with 'Yellows' - It has been a ready replacement for tiu and it's great that it's being run by U's fans for U's fans!! I can't see it being any thing else but a success, and before very long the No.1 site for fans of the mighty Yellows!! Bring on the new season.

My only concern, as mentioned by Mark Sennett, and I know nothing about websites, but is capacity going to be enough!?

This shows just how fickle internet users can be. Supposedly the main problem with the new TIU site was adverts down the right hand side, together with a few problems navigating around. It had very much the same layout as the old one, and this forum now seems pretty similar too, but with a colour scheme, avatars and pics and videos.
As Otto says above, I don't know what limits Proboards have on capacity, but as it is a freeboard they presumably have the rights to change their terms and conditions whenever they like. I've noticed that some sites like Rageonline, Barrow, Luton were paid for by the people who set them up.
Anyway, it looks like the Oxford Mail's servers won't be getting full any time soon - perhaps that was the intention? On their "Oxford United" web-page, today they've even got stories about Banbury United and a bloke from Abingdon with the Premiership Trophy.

The new tiu is this one. Oxfordshire forums was the original tiu, but the new Oxford mail forum is not the new tiu, its just an Oxford mail forum, with nothing to do with tiu in my opinion. Its sad that tiu has to close, but this is a good replacement. BOYCOTT THE OXFORD MAIL FORUM

Stupid, money based decision from Oxford Mail. How can one describe a message board as ageing?

Stupid, money based decision from Oxford Mail. How can one describe a message board as ageing? I never understood why it couldn't just be kept going? The only real reason I could see is 'advertising' but I can't quite believe the OM would do it.

Stupid, money based decision from Oxford Mail. How can one describe a message board as ageing? They are refering to the software behind the website. Probably no support from the makers, just like Microsoft no longer support Windows 95 or 98. So I for one can accept that argument. But the seem to have taken the moment that new software had to be used as a moment to cleanse the TiU site. And that was the wrong decision! With a little bit more effort it should have been possible to move all the member over to the new site and with more time and planning they could even have got the majority of the old threads over too. Pure cost-cutting and greediness from somebody.

Just checked. There's not been a single post on the new OM forum today. Looks well and truly buried. They must be bricking themselves.
