Have we officially officially started a reserve team for the season ahead? Yes, in the 'Totesport.com Football Combination East Division'. Confirmed teams & fixtures not out yet - last year there was: Watford, Ipswich, Norwich, Wycombe, Peterborough, Luton, Colchester, Northampton, Stevenage, Southend. Games will be at Loop Meadow, don't think prices set yet.

The pitch is often very heavy at City mid-season which maybe one reason we're going to play at Didcot.

We have a decent reserve team this year. We should piss it easily!

That depends. I suspect that most of the first team squad will only be given an occasional run out in the 'stiffs' to keep an edge on their fitness, and that the youth team will make up most of the sides.

But we have plenty of competition, meaning that the players not in the 1st team at the time will need to keep match fit.

Any information on who will manage the team?
Cannot see the need, or justify the expense, of a specific reserve manger.
Mickey took charge of the ad hoc reserve friendlies with assistance from Andy Melville.
Suppose it could vary depending on the team selected. Chris Allen and/or Les Taylor would be the alternatives if the side contained more scholars than seniors.

The fixtures for the reserve league are out. There are only 7 teams in the division, so only 12 games....better than last year I suppose. details here.

I suspect that most of the first team squad will only be given an occasional run out in the 'stiffs' to keep an edge on their fitness, and that the youth team will make up most of the sides. Seeing as it was Chris Wilder that specifically requested we enter a reserve league so that everyone could be kept match fit I doubt that will be the case, yes the better youth players will get games to see how they cope but so will the players not directly involved in the previous 1st team game, including those that were on the bench.
