With another full time signing today it dawned on me we haven't signed any players on loan as yet. There were rumblings that a striker may come in on loan.
If this situation stays the same then we'll probably be one of very few lower league clubs that don't have any loan players. It's part and parcel of the lower leagues.
I think thats quite a good thing, I'd prefer that to having a situation like Yeovil did last year with 6 loanees.

Wouldn’t Leigh Franks be a loan signing? I’ve read different articles regarding his status with Huddersfield.
Speculating if this was a reason in favour of signing Worley.
Agreed it is better to have a 19-22 man squad then look at the youth team and loans as injury, suspension and loss of form dictate.

At least we won't have our hands tied later on in the season by being up to the maximum limit of loan players.

Loanees didn't exactly hold us back last year though, did they? Potter, Green, Kinniburgh, Wright......and of course Constable the year before.
Always reckon it doesn't matter how you get the players, only who the players are.
The advantage of signing someone permanently rather than on loan is that you have an element of control over when they leave - however if you're a successful club like we were, it doesn't seem to be a problem to persuade those players to stick around (and it didn't appear to be too expensive either).
And then the advantage of a loanee is that if you realise you've arsed it up and they're rubbish, you can get rid easily....
I'm sure we'll see one or two around before Xmas at the latest.
