Not sure of the best section for this so will try here.
An idea was touched upon on TiU for adding the latin translation for 'glory awaits you' on to the club badge.
This was inspired by the 'glory awaits you' banner that was seen on 16th May at the Kass and at Wembley.
What do people think?
Worse case I think it would be a good moto to have placed in the tunnel to inspire the players as they come out on to the pitch.

How many clubs have a latin inscription?
Quite a few...I know Everton and Spurs do.

I like the idea.
Arsenal Everton, Spurs and Villa I think all have them.
It would be nice to see big banners like that "Glory Awaits You" permanently hanging from the top of the SSU or something

I like the idea of a banner or a sign somewhere in the stadium permanently, think that would look great.

Take a look at my signature on the old site and that will show what I think.
P.S. I just added it to this one as well!

I like the idea, but I think keep it in English. The clubs that have it in Latin have probably had that saying since they were founded and I don't like the idea of tacking something on to seem old. BUT in English it signifies a whole new era for the club and I think having it above the tunnel as the lads run out would be a great idea.

Another note, Munster always have huge banners for the rugby matches, and most contain the virtues the club has been built upon:
Stand Up And Fight (This is actually a famous Irish song) Ireland by birth, Munster by the grace of good. Allez les Rouges. To the brave and faithful, nothing is impossible.
Instead of the usual St Georges Cross flags, I'd prefer to see more like the above. Yellow writing on blue backgrounds. Maybe if the "When You're Smiling" song takes off, having a WHEN YOU'RE SMILING banner along the back of the OM. Maybe a BARTON BY BIRTH, BBL BY THE GRACE OF GOD. I don't know....
I think that'll show more than adding a latin inscription in 2010, seeing as other clubs have had theirs since their founding. Seems a bit cheap....

We are always making new banners, whether they be one offs for a display or banners which will be used over and and over again. For example the Rushden home PO game we had a 60+ft long banner saying 'forever and always' along with our card display.

Perhaps the 'Glory Awaits You' banner could become a permanent fixture on the back wall of the Oxford Mail stand?

Perhaps, although I'm not one for recycling old displays.

As I stated when this appeared on the OxVox site, good idea but let's keep it in English, I don't recall hearing too many supporters chanting in latin at many/any of our games !!

Perhaps, although I'm not one for recycling old displays. UNderstand what you're saying but lots of Italian and other ultras often have banners all along the back. once that is complete then any new ones after it is full would not need to be recycled? Would look amazing and really leave a great legacy for the ultras

It implies that BBL is a town in Barton. I realise you won't like it but 'English by birth, Oxford by the grace of God would represent more people'

If you and your group could use your banners to cover some of the concrete at the back of the Oxford Mail stand I'm sure we'd all agree it would look great.
We don't want the South Stand to most yellow stand in the ground do we?!

Just as a reminder the OxVox SSU board project has
'Our club, our passion, our pride' as first and last boards sandwiching the key year and trophy section,
Why not have a separate large banner up behind the East Stand to complement the boards?
Just a thought.
