Hey
I has a missed call from the Oxford Mails head of content,
Its bad news, he has confirmed that the appearance of the forums will not change due to the IT guys wanting it to blend in with the rest of the site.
They said that the old forums were old, which is true. And they probably thought to make a new forum tie in with the OM site.

To me thats not the major issue. This all started when i was banned last night. Up until then, there was some unhappy voices, but people were slowly joining the Oxford mail forum. But when i was banned, i got wound up, and made a facebook group www.facebook.com/pages/Boycott-the-new-Oxford-mail-forum/136863919680732?ref=mf and activly tried getting as many people as possible to join this new and much better forum. Others have been involved to, but my ban on the Oxford Mail site, started something. As my campaign took hold, more people started geting banned. So the issues are more to do with that than the format of the group

I'm quite glad the OM starting banning people (me included) and it has resulted in posters coming over to this forum en masse.
It would have been a nightmare trying to use the new OM forum, so it's a good thing in my opinion that the Ox Mail have shot themselves in the foot. I also think this forum has the potential to be even better than the old TiU, especially as it has a fan as admin who listens to peoples views on it's appearance etc and acts on them pretty quickly.

Persuasion is better than the big stick. A truism that the OM seems to have forgotten.

Persuasion is better than the big stick. A truism that the OM seems to have forgotten. That is very true. If anyone runs at me with a bit stick, I either run off or try and find a bigger stick with a nail in the end. Admitting that I never read the T&Cs, was there actually anything in there that said you could be banned for talking about other forums? I know the admin will of course reserve the right to ban anyone they like....for whatever reason....but it does smack of insecurity.
