Shouldnt they cover them like scumdon have done? It's a myth that they do not have speed camera. They do not have fixed speed cameras. They do though have camera vans that pop up here there and bloody everywhere and they are worse as you don't know where they are going to be. Hate the place.

In Oxon there might not be any fixed speed cameras or mobile speed vans, but there still are police using there hand held speed guns to enforce limits.

I have an ingenious solution built into my car.....its a speedometer. Amazingly if you take note of your speed and drive within the limit you don`t get caught. And I`m no angel btw...I got done on Tower Bridge at the erratically dangerous speed of 26mph...the limit is 20mph , not for road safety but for "Monument Protection". lol

Evidently English Heritage had received complaints that the cameras were spoiling photographs of the Tower of London taken by tourists, and asked for the cameras to be camouflaged. The Met Police (or whoever is responsible) obliged.

You can still go through the 30mph zones at 35mph and not be caught. 10% plus 2mph is allowable. The satnav speed is always slower than the speedometer and can be relied upon as far more accurate

10% plus 2 means you will get caught at 35 but not 34 but this is not a rule used all across the country. some countys will do you for doing 31 in a 30. It all depends from county to county. I got caught doing 57 in a 50 near burford and thought it was a bit harsh!

I took two for test on Friday and the first one passed with five faults and the second one got four fault plus a serious for speeding...they were doing 33 in a 30. I really thought both would pass. Both collected new cars on Saturday and both had an examiner called Nick, so I thought the gods were on my side. Possibly another examiner would have passed the second one too..I thought harsh as he drove well throughout the test

My test was brilliant- Orginal got cancelled by the DSA/DVLA (whoever), rebooked me with a different examiner only there that day to cover the previous examiners absence. Wore my lucky OUFC wristband - which the examiner spotted - he used to play for us!!! (His name has momentarily slipped out my head) - picked up 11 minors but still passed first time ;D had to really all things considered!
