What's easier? Park at Hillingdon and go from there? Assume there's no where to park in and around Upton Park?

Parking in and around Upton Park would be a nightmare imho. I've done it before - years ago and the traffic was bad then going from Abingdon via the M40, M25 etc.
I've thought about the train but will go on a club coach from the ground despite the early departure time.
It seems so much less hassle to go by coach for this one.

Would it not be easier to drive to Heathrow and get the tube from there?

South Ruislip or Stanmore are the best bets. Takes ages from Hillingdon I believe.

I can't leave Oxford area till 4ish. I know this sounds like a long detour but will probably drive down M40 then north round M25 all the way to Junction 30 then straight in on A13 until A117 then head north but park 15 minutes walk south of the stadium (eg Lichfield Road) which should give a quick get away for the reverse route home.
Last time I went to Upton Park from Kent I went along A13 and parked in similar place then walked past queues of traffic close to ground but got straight out and was home very quick. Will need a bit of luck on way in. As long as M25 is not too bad then traffic wesbound on A13 is not normally too slow. Should be on M25 15 mins after getting back in the car after the game.
This should avoid any congestion to the north of Upton Park. Fingers crossed.

Please let me know.

I went this way and parked at the hospital.
There was a bit of traffic but nothing unusual on the M25.
We stopped for a pizza on the way there so were able to take our time getting there.
The way back was perfect... half an hour to the M11 junction and filling up with petrol at wheatley only 1 hour and 40 minutes after leaving the hospital.

For those of you who don't want to drive around London next time, Me and my dad..
Drove to North Acton and hopped on the underground and changed at Mile end.
Decent enough and was quicker than I thought getting on the tube. Got home about 12.
