Hi U's fans,
Bristol Rovers fan in peace here. Glad to see you back in the football league where you belong, am very much looking forward to Tuesday's game, i always love a visit to the Kassam Stadium - this will be my 3rd, with a visit to the Manor ground before then. (the last time i came i remember the home crowd being very hostile and protesting to get the chairman out, not sure if it was Mr. Kassam or not, and i think you beat us 1-0)
Anyway, are you lot expecting a big crowd? First home game of the season? I should think we will bring a few with it being fairly close to Bristol.
How do you guys think you will fare this season, i saw you had a massive following at burton albion yesterday, its a shame you didnt see any goals! I for one was unfortunate enough to be at Peterborough yesterday and we got tanked 3-0 so hopefully when we play you this week our defence will have stiffened up.
Is ryan clarke still playing for you? Im sure he will get a good reception from us if he is, he served us well while he was with us. I also see you have Alfie Potter now, isnt he the guy who played for H&V?
On paper our squad looks capable of putting in a good shift, we have made some good additions this summer, but we are in desperate need for a target man, someone who can hold the ball up and get on the end of some crosses so dont expect us to be scoring any headers against you!
Anyway best of luck for tuesday and for the rest of the season, hopefully we will be playing you in the league soon!

Yeah I'm looking forward to it. Rovers always bring a good following and atmosphere. After years in the conference it'll be great to see away fans again!
The night you refer to has gone down in almost legend/bloated posturing as the night of the storming of the boardroom and it was great!
No idea what the crowd will be but it's great to be back in the League Cup again - I'm still getting to grips with what we've been missing.
There's a totally different feel about the place since your last trip in those dark days under Ka££am.
We've got a step up to make but we're back and our following at Burton was fantastic.
Ryan Clarke has been superb for us, supporters player of the year and started well with another clean sheet and another great save on Saturday. He's got cult status already taking over Billy Turley's mantle.
Tuesday should be a good night.

Strongly think Chris Wilder will take the opportunity to try out a few different players on Tuesday, so not overly hopeful of the result. As someone else on this site said, I'm not too worried about the result, just happy that we are back in a REAL Cup again!

Just the banter and 'friendliness' of some people (football related). I remember going to Leyton Orient about 5 years ago, and some geezer saw me on the tube with my shirt on. So he asked whether we wanted to follow him to a pub close to the ground. Great banter on the way but I was a bit too young most of what was being said to be honest ;D

When i think of oxford i think of Steve Basham, he always played well against us. Also Hargreaves in midfield who seemed to ooze quality. However im not sure i can ever forgive Oxford for letting us have Ian Atkins!! Was the most miserable period in my 12 or so years of watching Rovers and i was very relieved when he moved on, although the signing of Dave Savage from you was excellent. He was a great player in his time. Any where you guys recommend to park on tuesday? Or any decent watering holes near the ground that accept away fans? Carruthers and Haldane moved on from us to you didnt they? They have since moved again to York (i think) and Port Vale.

I park in Littlemore but for an away fan that might be a bit of a task. You could try the Priory carpark or the club carpark which should be okay as its a Tuesday.

Whatever you do, don't park in the housing estates nearby, cos the council will be on to you with a fine if you don't have a parking pass thing..

You'd be best to park in stadium, shouldn't be massively crowded.

Must be using an iphone to type. I can type quickly on mine but sometimes I find I have typed a load of gobbledydook--is that the right word?

I think the winner of this tie will go on to win the cup. That's a shame, cos apparently, at this level it's better to get to the semis then to win it
