There is always the argument over why we are singing songs about the opposition, and should get on with our own songs. Will it wind their fans up? Who knows - they probably just chuckle and get on with supporting their own team. Will it get their players going? Possibly.
Football wouldn't be the same if we didn't sing about 'seasiders' and 'work in the summer' when we visit Torquay, and all the other regional songs there are.
It definitely did work when we called Akinfenwa of Northampton a fat ******* earlier in the season and he turned to the OM stand and missed a ball played into space.
On the other hand, after Christmas in our first Conference year, being constantly reminded that we were 'top of the league and ****ed it up' and 'division one and ****ed it up' did rankle.

Put it this way - had Marvin Morgan played for us and said what he said about us on Twitter, the Aldershot fans would be singing the same songs.
That's the way football fans work.

Saw the flag as was at back of East Bank facing you, loved it as couldn't agree more. Also laughed at the Morgan song as thats what match day is all about between fans. Always enjoy the game at your place but the way it's going not hopeful will be heading your way next year.

Talking of atmosphere & chanting songs does anyone know the origin of the chant 'She Fell Over' when a player goes ass over t1t?
As I recall it's always sang with a northern accent!
