ER, we started with TWO left backs and TWO right backs yesterday? Is CW trying to test Kelvin's patience, or something. Rose-tinted glasses off, everyone - are you kidding Chris?!

Anyone know where our old hero Roy Burton is these days? I think he was at United for around ten years. The first time I saw him play, was for the U's against an England eleven at the manor, in around '71.
Last I heard of him he was making a decent living doing barn/country cottage conversions in north oxfordshire- my mum was an estate agent and did a couple of deals with him.
Roy Burton was fukin immense- anyone remember a game against bristol city must've been 75/76 ish- the best 0-0 I've ever been too, end-to-end stuff and roy pulled off some incredible saves..including one where he was beaten, re jigged his body m id-air and tipped it over...great atmosphere at that game too.
What he was best at was one-on-ones- its wierd how in "modern" football you rarely see them-= back then they were part and parcel of the game- and they werent a source of many penalties or sending offs either.
The good old days indeed...time for a song
"WE've got Roy Burton number one, WE've got Roy Burton number one, WE've got Roy Burton number one..we've got the best team in the land........"

Not being funny Dave but why do you keep posting in the one thread, you can start other threads that are relevent? I do write in other posts, Ox4. Everytime I try to start a new thread, I keep forgetting how you do it (groan) So I write on here; that way, I also know where I've written! Er, I'm crap on computors, basically! As far as my little whinge about the 2 sets of defenders go, I was feeling depressed this morning (becoming an unwanted habit, Mr Wilder!) but I'm (only slightly) over it. At least Rangers are still top in you-know-where-land! ha ha 9-0 and still second! See what's happening? We're getting bloody tonked each week and my mind is wandering far afield! Come on (please!) you yellows! Whale Oil Beef Oct? We were yesterday!!

Roy Burton is doing very well for himself letting out houses in Oxford for students. He lives over in Lechlade.

At long last, my age is a higher number than my bluddy waist size! On another subject,I hope we don't have to sing that old song that goes; All I want for christmas is two more points! If we're not careful, CW will be singing: Oh, come BACK all ye faithful, to our disappearing fans, judging by the way they streamed out of the ground last Tuesday! No Pantos this Christmas please, after the fiasco last b*llock-freezing winter! (Shame we can't have my favourite Panto; Jack and the Beano stalking defences) Yes, that was cr*p, but then so are we at the moment!

Sad news to report about Jaffa after many happy years supporting Oxford and West Ham,he met and married a moonraker and lives in Faringdon even worse he now graces the County ground with his presence and has become one of their top boys.He has even turned down West Ham tickets so that he could watch the scum.I suppose the exercise of all that running home and away is good for him at his age
