Hi Dave, Saw on here somewhere you like a bit of poetry so am starting a thread in miscellaneous for people to post witty one or more verse ditties on. Cheers Hi Gavin, right now, I'm still in shock after having witnessed one of the most frustrating, boring, embarrassing, cringe-worthy and inept displays I've ever had the misfortune to witness. No, I'm not talking about Oxford United last night - they were just f*cking sh*te! I was watching a repeat of Anne Piggycombe whirling around like a spinning roundabout on 'Sperm Jiggling' (sorry - come dancing, whatever)

Here's a well-loved drinking hole that no-one has mentioned on this topic yet - the old Oxford United Supporters' Club at the Manor. God! How could we forget that place? Always full with a great 'Christmassy-type' atmosphere at every home game. Andy James stood at the door to make sure (but never enforce) you were a member, before coming in! We've mentioned many pubs on here - but, yep - my absolute favourite boozer was the clubhouse! Any takers on that?

Loved it Thats what is needed at the Kashstad A proper supporters club, run like the old one, there were some old boys there did a fantastic job running it, and all the players [inc opponents] used to go in after the game for a beer. Had some great times in there
Anyone know what became of Gary Whiting-the secretary?

We used to have one mate who was a member, he used to go in with his membership card, straight into the gents pass it through a small hole in the corner of the window to one of us we would then repeat this until about ten of us where in. Back in the early 80's this was your only option for post match drink as the pubs wouldn't open again til six, it was a bit harder to get in from the London Road at half time.

One other thing about socialising in the old supporters' club; you never had TVP or violence in there, just happy, cheerful, tipsy fans! And they say we don't want to go back to the '80s? Er, for the great atmosphere - I wish we could!

Alright L+P Used to blag our way in the same way, half time we would try and walk straight in the side entrance with a look of confidence and no membership card, failed 9 out of 10 times mind! Was a safe refuge sometimes say if Pompey or someone took over the Brit or Standard..

Anybody know how many are going to Burton tomorrow? Just hope we don't GO for a burton! That's a point. Anyone know where our old hero Roy Burton is these days? I think he was at United for around ten years. The first time I saw him play, was for the U's against an England eleven at the manor, in around '71. We lost 2-1, but you could see he was special. If you think that Ryan is a good goalie (he was brilliant against Torquay) then what does that make Roy?
