I too will admit to seeing Gary Glitter at the New Theatre along with David Bowie,Susie Quattro,Slade,Mott the Hoople with Queen supporting them and many others not forgetting T.Rex,Bowie and Desmond Dekker at the Town Hall. Snap... andadd to that list Slade at the New Theatre and The Pioneers at the Town Hall and I did too- lotsa Soul acts over at California Ballrooms Dunstable in the 70's too including The Temptations among many many more All those groups! I had the chance to be a song writer once. I've written thousands of limericks and poems over the years. I am in the middle of composing a book of limericks and poems at the moment. I only write adult/humourous type. In 1986, I wrote a poem about some of the stories that were news headlines of that year. I used to call bingo at a club in Aylesbury and every week I used to read out one of my poems. We had the Wurzels at our club as the Cabaret act one night and they listened to my poem and liked it. They asked me if I could write songs and if I did, they would sing them! To this day, I regret not taking them up on their offer; don't forget, they had 3 songs in the top 10 at one time, including a number 1 in the mid '70s!

I've just removed my last post (I was, like all of us, gobsmacked by today's result) I'm slightly over the shock of today. If it lessens the pain a little bit - don't forget we've been playing without the Beast and Jake for quite a while and Josh hasn't been here all season. Can Oxford get up from this smack in the gob? We'll find out on Tuesday. Come on, everyone; let's rally and get behind the team. Those of us who've been around a bit will remember that we always used to win at home and lose/draw away.

i was there on the last night at the greyhound....i had the G from the letters on the glocky green side of the pub for a few years hartly, you didn't keep that letter? That pub was THE place to go, when we went to away games. I know people will say that the '70s and '80s were the 'bad old days', regarding football hooligans (D'ya know what - a lot of people say we don't want to go back to those days, and they weren't even around then!) but as a youth and young man, that pub was like a magnet - it just drew you there! I would have nailed that letter to my wall!

Just out of interest, does anyone know the ACTUAL reason why Tim's pub can't serve booze in the Marquee? Why has it taken this long for that rule to be made enforcable? Against Northampton, the police officers were photographing and videotaping me, my 15 year old son, my 12 year old son and my 9 year old daughter. They had a very good reason for getting this vital information on film, concerning me and my kids. All four of us have caused havoc in the past. 1. I once farted in a crowded lift and didn't say 'pardon'. 2. My 15 year old son once fought himself out of a wet paper bag. 3. My 12 year old son once got a half hour detention for being ugly. 4. My 9 year old daughter watched ten minutes of Anne Widdicombe dancing and WASN'T sick!
I just hope they don't come knocking on my door at 6-30 in the morning and discover that I own two tiny, but ever so bad tempered Chihuahuas!
I wonder if their cameras, just like some of those Gatso cameras, didn't really have film in, but were there just to scare us into behaving our violent selves? Surely, they won't be there against Torquay will they? Should I wear mascara and a blusher, just in case? (gotta look good for the camera)

Hello dave, the licensing officer said the reason the police took basically our licence away was there was a risk of potential trouble in the future,so don`t fly, take the tube,go to town drinking,so the night clubs in town will trade after 20 glassings, stabbings, the council may take the drastic action of making them use plastic !! but carry on !, we have no trouble, have built up a decent mature crowd over 7 years not 7 months, have not been told to use plastic, get more security,no meetings at all , just f---- us over.

Torquay United brings back a rather strange memory. I used to work as a furniture remover in 1979. One day, we moved a family from Aylesbury to Torquay. After we loaded the lorry up, we parked it for the night. That night, Torquay were at home to Scumdon, so I went to the game and stood in the away end. Out of nowhere, came around a thousand Scumdon fans! I'm not kidding - loads of them! Scumdon won 3-0 or something like that. After the game, they ran the torquay lads ragged. They did to Torquay, what we used to do to them!
