I'm going, the Man U youngsters will play better football than what we'll see over the rest of the season!

Man United are playing a youth team Are they going to throw in a few old pros as well? What about the "stars" that have just got back from the world cup?

There must be a record somewhere. It was sold at the auction. I bet someone has it in their back garden. Campaign to find the arch and buy it back!

I've always thought - from a football perspective - that these games against the Man U youth are pretty pointless.
I mean we're going to be playing against a bunch of supremely talented kids, who'll all be incredibly technically gifted but probably won't be up for much of a physical battle. Or in other words, exactly the opposite of what we're going to be facing day-in day-out in League Two.
Obviously it's going to be great for fleecing money out of plastic Oxfordshire Man U supporters - and that's clearly a good thing - but from a footballing perspective, I'm certain that the Leicester game will have been more use and maybe we could have done with another game or two against a League One or Conference side? Someone closer to the level we're going to be playing at (although the Scots were probably about right too)........

As you state in your post. I also agree though that our pre season doesn't look a particularly robust test. Are we playing Oxford City this year or have I completely missed it? We normally start with that game. Perhaps Junior has got his way and we're not playing them after the horro tackle?! ;D I do think we should really have tried ourselves out against a Yeovil or a Tranmere type opposition this weekend this giving them still a week to recover from any knocks.

I think you're right Tony - it's an opportunity to make some cash rather than a valid footballing test. My kids have season tickets but they've bugged me to go along so I'll be there.
You can see what it means to Man U in that there doesn't seem to be a mention of the game anywhere on the reserves site, let alone the main one.
