Like someone said on that site, there's a place for it no doubt but not at the loss of Snooker proper.
It does sound a bit 'pubby' but I'm sure it will be played a lot up and down the country in snooker clubs.
I think it's unfair to label normal Snooker 'boring' though. I've watched (and tried to play!) it since I was a boy and I still enjoy it to this day.
Best bet? Don't refer to it as Snooker, give it a new name and let the two different sports exist side-by-side.

I reckon it could do well. The wham-bam-thank-you-mam style of Twenty-20 has been a revelation, and I think this could do the same.
As most of you have said, it shouldn't run to the point of saturation. I think Twenty-20 is close to heading that way, which defeats the object of it. It should be about getting people interested in snooker, rather than trying to make a quick buck (like the IPL).
