Not a big fan of talking politics on football forums - prob best left for the misc section.
But I would say, the rest of the world (Europe) is no better off then the UK - its the world that is a mess. The worldwide banking industry has a lot to answer for.
Kassam is a person I detest. I am shallow enough to admit - it would have effected my vote.....

To be fair to Cameron, he was probably brought up at Eton taught to think that everyone who plays and watches football is a commoner and ruffian.

A bit of perspective please, Kassam arrived in this country with nothing but the shirt on his back and he has amassed a fortune, he is a succesfull entrepreneur. Alan Sugar has stepped over alot of people to get where he is and he's hated by Spurs, but he's still a Lord and well respected. I can think of alot of worse chairman. That Gaydamak wouldn't give a monkeys if Portsmouth went out of business as long as he gets his money

It shows an immense lack of regard for the people of his consituency for Cameron to publicly come out and praise a man so many of them detest (for good reason). But I expect he's more interested in securing more rich benefactors to fund his party than in representing the views of the people who elected him.

I think this relationship proves exactly what I have always thought about Cameron. He has no connection to the vast majority of people in this country and that will be his undoing. You mark my words!!

Cameron is my MP but did not get my vote, neither did the Lib Dems or Labour. None of them went in to anywhere near enough detail of where they would cut, making them all unvoteable in my eyes. I detset Kassam with a passion, but think there are far more pressing issues that would win or lose my vote than his opinions on that man.

Yes but it does show him up regard for his voters or simply as a bad judge of character. Either trait is more than a little concerning in our Prime Minister. Out of interest - is Kassam classed as a non dom? How much tax does he pay in this country, or has he "done and Ashcroft"?
