I am thinking of buying FIFA 11 for PC as have a bit more time on my hands. Last FIFA I played was FIFA 08 on my Xbox360.
I had a look at FIFA 10 and a lot seems to have changed including a "online profile"
Anyone can advise how to get the best out of FIFA 11, what has changed? I believe we are in the new game, hence main reason why I want to buy it

Pro evo 11 is better. Don't waste your money on FIFA.

Pro evo is better, although there is no Oxford unfortunately!

More fanboyism! Metacritic ratings are 88 for FIFA and 79 for Pro Evo so unbiased views are that FIFA is the better game. But that still doesn't answer any of the queries this thread was supposed to be about. (and for the record I have both in previous versions on my 360, although haven't bought a football game for about 3 years. Both have flaws and niggles, and both, having played the latest demos, are still short of being the definitive football game)

But are they unbiased views? FIFA is the commercial game with all the official endorsements. Its like comparing a Hollywood blockbuster with an independant film or a commercial chart band with a less well known one. I'm not one of those people who refuses to play the other game, I've tried FIFA last year and this year and it doesn't fell as good to play despite being altogether more polished.
No not on xbox dichio

Metacritic is an aggregate of all the reviews in professional publications, so take from that what you will. Comparing Pro Evo and FIFA is most certainly not the same as Hollywood v independent or Commercial band v Indie, it is closer to 'Coldplay v U2' - both are massive franchises with entrenched fanbases. Pro Evo has always played slighty more to my tastes than FIFA (although I use the FIFA control system in Pro Evo). Going back 3 years, Pro Evo was so clearly the better game that there wasn't even an argument, but today? Pretty level. If you were coming into Football gaming now, there isn't much to chose between them. If I was to buy one this year I would more than likely go Pro Evo, but to say money spent on FIFA would be a waste as suggested earlier on the thread is just absurd, and to suggest one is vastly superior to the other is again (IMHO) absurd.

Thats a pretty fair comment - a rarity on this debate! Totally agree, there probably isn't much in it for someone not already firmly favouring one or the other.

I played the demo for fifa 11, it just seems a bit to robotic for me. I'm not saying pro evo is perfect, i just prefer it.
The "become a goalkeeper" is good fun and they also have the 11 vs 11 online game but both, i could imagine, would get boring if you played it a lot.
Pro evo have unearthed there new selling point, and in my opinion, what a selling point, Master league online. its still young and far from perfect but as the years go by and it gets better, they will be back to being so far ahead of fifa again.
The game play is quite similar and both games have there faults. i just think pro evo have the win due to the non playing part of the game.
my opinion is biased, ive only played the fifa demo and not the full game, so really cant say much about fifa till/if i do.
it just looks like its same old fifa and not really changed that much, which is what you expect in a new game
ps back to the original post. i'd hate to say it, neither pro evo or fifa are great on pc's, never have been and i cant see it changing. sorry.
id go for football manager 11 when it comes out (not sure of the realse date, sorry). dont waste you money on either pro evo or fifa if its for a PC

Football manager is surely not a comparable game? I think too many people fail to realise that people play the games in different ways and want different things.

Just had a little go on Fifa 11 and god its changed from FIFA 8. But bought it mainly as we are in there. But is there a league function where you can play a whole season and maybe get promoted?

There's a career mode on the xbox.. then you select to either be a player or manager or both!
Currently sitting top of league 1, with a squad including D.Odonkor, C.Austin, P.Agumang and N.Clyne!

Fifa 11 is a good game. It's a bit too defence orientated for my mind though. I only scored 32 goals as Oxford in my first season.
PES2011 is very good fun.

No offence CB but maybe thats you not hte game?
I'm currently just using my VP in World Class to get my level up.
If anyone wants me to join their VP club I play RW, ST, CF, RM or the left sided if you want.
I'm like well quick and small and I have 'Skilled Dribbling' specialty and 5 traits
Second Wind Long Throw Finesse Shot Dribbler can't remember last one. I'll edit this later.

God knows what it is. I played on Professional anyway.
I've had something like 25 0-0 draws out of 60 odd games.
