Hey hicko,

messaging with the controller aint ideal.

Ive played a few d4 teams in the cups and they have teams with 25m value minimum for the most part, im only at 20m and dont want to get humped just yet, thats why im thinking hard about dropping a few games to stay in d5 for another week while i build up, moneys hard to get though as the entrance fee for games is going up and if i lose i actually lose loot.

Was at 576 points 2 days ago, then went on a bad run, changed things around and in one day lost 100 points, back up around 510, if you get less than 500 you go to d5, if you have less than 440 you drop out of the divisions.

Have Owen and MG Pedersen up front, they are doing ok, have to get rid of that useless tit Jaric in defence though.

yea tell me about it. I've plugged in my keyboard into my xbox, to make it a lot easier.

yea div 4 is very hard, esp when ive had such a crap team for most of my time in it. I have to pay about 60k entrance fee, if i lose i only make about £400 but if i win i more then double my money.

When i sign in, its telling me that if i get more then 501 points, i'll go up to div 3 and less then 441 i'll get relegated. over the weekend, i was down to about 320 but brought Honda and changed my formation and have brought it back to about 460.

1st knock out phase is the best ive done in cup games, knocked out on pens tho. they are so hard on this game, think im slightly getting used to them now tho.

I've got Ishmael Miller and Kenwyne Jones, id like to get rid of them, but need a new goalkeeper first. last default player i have.
i think my defence is alright, they're all over 190 and over 85 bb. and high ball comes in they just eat it up. think ive only ever conceded 1 or 2 by corners. scored a few up the other end as well.

Leagues are updated today so, will have new players to play whatever div im in

Up to 559 points now and it looks like im d4 bound, tables havent been updated yet, would rather stay in d5 but what the hell, just going for it.

Quite happy with my team at the mo, next signing will probs be in a couple of days, need a CM with a killer pass and that can take a free kick.

Finally sorted out the defence with the addition of De Jong following the cup run yesterday evening, no more ditherers, at least this lot can play their way out of a mess.

Managed to save the team in the game plan / data managment section, one of these days we will have to have a match.

I'm waiting to get a top notch goalkeeper, then i can replace the others.

M whole team blows hot and cold, one moment they could be the world on there own, then next they couldn't beat a badger.

I've found that a lot of players in div have odd formation, there's quite a few 3-1-6 which is very hard to play against. esp when ou have 3 defenders like me.

nice to see a fellow yellow get promoted out of the conference.

Morning Hicko, how was yesterday ?

I made it through the qualifiers of the ml open twice yesterday, lost on pens the 1st time and then 2-0 the 2nd time, hadnt conceded a goal til that game, btw cash for getting into the next round was 400k, not bad.

Made it through to the semis of the d5 cup, my opponent let the clock run down before the game, at half time, at the end of the game and before penalties, we managed 2 penalties each before the game timed out and he was declared the winner by having more points than me

Saw you have Romeric the long ranger in your team, i got him yesterday and played him for about 10 games and he didnt shoot once ! got rid of him and bought Arteta instead. How is he doing for you ?

Currently playing an xmas tree formation of 4-3-2-1 instead of the tried and trusted 4-4-1-1 with Kuyt and Eduardo as support strikers to Owen. Owen was injured all through the last rounds of the d5 cup but managed to play him, my attacker on the bench has a rating of 20 and a value of 4k ;D, will have to do something about that.

Todays the day the League tables change, have 555 points, so will see what happens, defo have to play you later, have a good one.

afternoon,

Yesterday was a bad day for my team, played in a coach mode comp, lost all games and lost about 50 points on the way, which left me well into the relegation position. then after that my team never recovered, they all played so badly.

i brought darren bent in for miller, he's scored one goal in about 10 games.

I play Romaric in a more defensive midfield position, does get the odd shot in which never goes far away. when it come to free kicks, i haven't found anyone better. Now i have D'Agostino, they have to take it in turns. in coach mode, D'Agostino is better but if i play Romaric is better. I would say he is one of the most consistant players in my team.

im not sure if its my formation, my players or my tactics then are making my team play badly. they cant string 2 passes together. I even have a player who has a body balance rating of 95 who gets pushed off the ball every time someone in the crowd sneezes.

I was at such a disadvantage being put into div 4 after just 4/5 games. winning is a lot harder when you have ruskin and streamer against villa and messi. It looks like ill be in div 5 again today, so will be able to build my team up and a few cup runs before i take on div 4 again.

my whole subs bench is full of players rated 20-25, cheap and add to the numbers.

Im up to d4, doing ok so far, had one thumping 0-6 loss to a side that was full of top players, my fault though for going 3 at the back when i was 0-2 down, apart from that its 50-50 with results. I bet it was tough for you last week, must have been quite frustrating.

Formation and style of play defo have an effect, i swapped around quite a bit and am happy with how they play at the moment.

Cant believe that on this footy forum its only you and me playing this game ! I reckon Baldy and Junior play as Man U and are too ashamed to reveal themselves online ;D

it started off well for me as well. i had enough points to get promoted again but my team started to struggle after a few days. in an ideal world i wouldnt have got straight up to help build my team.

i havent been on yet but im 90% sure ill be in div 5. it gives me the chance to start again with a better team. i hope it works out better for you.

yea i think im going to aim to change formation to 4-3-3

im sure as time goes by we'll have more people joining in (hopefully)

it wouldnt suprise me if they were manure, at least we have 2 oxford teams in it tho.

Was good to beat you today, even if i was England and you were some 2nd Division Swedish team and then only on penalties !

Ive been to much into coach mode and defo should practice a bit more with the regular game. Quite enjoyed teh Bordeaux v Lyon fixture, Bordeaux are probs the closest 1st division team to me and was good to get familiar with some names, not sure about the 2 players called semolina and juicy though !

Had a few probs with my xbox today, kept telling me the disk needed cleaning just when i was about to kick off, happened 4 times, so lost at least 30 points doing that, disk is fine, think my box is struggling a bit.

I bet your loving life in d5, im down to 395 pts now...its hell in d4 !

At least one of us us doing Oxford proud, runners up in the ml cup and about 39 out of 6500 in div 5. It's great being in this league, I thought you might struggle in div 4. I'm glad I'll have some money behind me when I give it another go next week.

Maybe if we get enough people,we can get a cup going ourselves. I'm pretty sure you can do it online.

You mentioned about how poorly your lot did in the next tourny, i have the same problem, up and down, i think its time to get some decent subs, when players are off their game and no one on the bench to replace them thats it game over, so the plan to get Rio goes out the window. Some of the players have the super sub attribute in the special skills section, will look for those and let you know how that works.

Time to change your team name from Athletic to United ;D

I can see your logic over the subs. I don't have the money to buy players without releasing my players first to help fund it. Maybe when I return back to div4 I'll have enough money to buy players out right and have 1 or 2 decent subs.

Played in the div 5 cup (normal) before, came 26th with 2w 1d, my keeper needs to be replaced. My team also really struggles against the default players. Give me messi, ronaldo and torres to play against rather than ordaz, Ruskin and maninda.

How much did u get for making the semi? I would have thought the winner got 3 mill maybe

My mistake, got to the semi of the d4 cup which was worth 400k.

Had Ameobi as my sub yesterday, LR footed plays cf/ss smf, certainly did ok, in the 20 odd i games i played with him i lost 1, but drew 13 or 14. anyway he is gone as i needed the loot to get villa and luis garcia.

Was bit annoyed yesterday, went into the ml expecting to qualify, having won my previous 3 games 4-1 3-0 2-0 i coudnt score a single goal in the 6 tourny games. very frustrating, anyway i think ive nailed the problem, my midfield being not defence minded enough and my defence being a little light weight, need to shuffle the pack a bit today. when the midfield is off the boil my team falls to bits.

Know what you mean about the default players, they are a right pain.

Think i will be ok in d4, as Maurice Evans once said, we are to good to go down.

Morning, or should i say moaning, cos thats what im going to do ;D

Made it to the d4 semi final last night, score was 1-1 heading into injury time and the game timed out. Before the game i checked the other fella`s stats and he had 456pts to my 486, so i thought sweet, im in the final...WRONG ! the msg came up he had more points than me so he made it..wtf is that about ? Am i looking at the wrong stats ?

Anyway, that kinda sucked but today is a new day, realised that the tallest player in my team is 1.83m lol...Will defo be adding Rio later.

Pretty sure i played a bot in one of the tournies, all default players and all speeded up like they were on erm well speed..i clung on to a 0-0 in that.

Currently on 506pts and in a promotion spot, really dont want to go straight up to d3 ;D

Enjoyed last night, That 4-1 was quite satisfying, even if the first pen was a bit dodge ;D

Good to see youve changed your team from 10 henchmen and a ballerina to something a bit more balanced.

Got onto the Konami forum this morning and posted my gripe about the games timing out, 3 semi finals losing to cheats is a bit much. Will see if anything comes of it but i doubt it.

Looking forward to teaching your boys another lesson later on, have a good one.

you had 1 lucky result, apart from that the games were pretty even. apart from that 1 game, was a great night. i enjoyed watching my team kick yours for 90 mins.

I must of been lucky when i got to the final, was beating teams in normal time, so never had that problem.

What a come back you had in the quarter final though, 2-0 down at half time then go on to win 3-2, not bad at all.

I played 1 more game after you left last night, won 4-1. Fellani is brilliant., he gets everywhere on the pitch and is so solid. apart from him, the rest have made a good start. the new striker, scored 2 very well taken goals, so will be staying a bit longer now.
