Avoid wasps, go watch harlequins.
Sorry could not resist it, seriously try vinegar to start.

Cheers guys, the vinegar option has certainly eased the pain, and the wasp is not going to sting anyone again. Pointless creatures.

If you don't have any vinegar handy, pissing on it works apparently

Hate the bastards, and Bee's and spiders.
Was stung by a wasp under armpit when young, stung in mouth by Bee and.... in Australia was bitten by a small black widow.
Also stung by a bluebottle and f**k me does that hurt.

Have you ever seen a camel spider? No! but I've encountered similar spiders in Australia But you haven't been reading about them in the tabloids have you? There were some ridiculous exaggerations about them recently in a story linked to the Iraq war. They are just big spiders with a nasty bite if you are unlucky enough to be bitten by one. They don't actively attack humans!

Yes the camel spider story from the Iraq war. More like scorpions though.

That infamous photo of the soldiers holding up the camel spiders is done in the same way as the so-called "giant rat" in Bradford or wherever it was - held up close to the camera at arms length to make it appear huge when actually its not that big.

Yeah My profile pic on quickflirt doing my Red Rum impersonationation uses that technique.

Yes, encountered one in South Africa. Ugly barsteward who ran as the wind. Bit evrything it bumped into to see if it was edible. Luckely it didn't like the flavour of my walking boots!
