evolution happens over a span of many years, millions in cases, not the last 40. Yeah i'm not doubting that. The thing was when humans first became humans they were all retards and as we are getting older as a race we are getting clever. We aren't evolving to have like extra legs. Wiki it or something KITR. wiki it? I have a degree (and masters) in law and a degree in psychology focusing on neuropsychology and evolutionary change. GCSE's were piss when I did them too so I’m not singling you out for criticism just saying the increase in A grades over the last 40 years has nothing to do with evolution.

Thats what a supply science teacher told me. Bastard. ;D However i'm pretty sure its been made clear that exams aren't getting easier. Kids are just generally getting cleverer. By the way I'm doing Psychology at A-Level as thats something that REALLY interests me. EDIT: Its been documented that they've made exams harder over the past 2 years according to some exam board person this year

You could get by doing exams to a certain standard without ever setting foot into a library. Thanks to the Internet the information is all at your fingertips.

Haha, kids think that evolution is the cause of a 40-year swing in average exam grades then I'm surprised the swing is upwards not downwards! Also enjoying the notion of the day when "humans first became humans" as retards. There's got to be a movie in that.
Powerpoint was fun. The problem with GCSE ICT is that all it prepares you for is a job where IT is a tiny part of it. All other GCSEs are like the first rung on the ladder of learning for a job, whereas IT is more of an addon. They could teach how to write letters and make a powerpoint presentation in half the time, and the other half should be the workings of hardware and software, to give anyone who does want a career in IT more of a headstart.

No I don't THINK it was literally EVOLUTION like extra limbs and what not. I mean like progression as a race, generally.

Pass rates have risen 23 years in a row. If it was down to just "progression" in human intelligence, there would surely be a plateau somewhere, not just increasing year on year. It's no criticism of anyone involved, teachers, exam boards, pupils, it's just not realistic.

There'd be more value in teaching GCSE ICT students how to write an iphone app. They might be able to make a few quid from it, too.
Writing a program was the only useful thing I got out of any of my (limited) computer studies education.

And it wasn't a case of 'all humans were retards'.
Before the Larynx descended then only a small range of sounds could be produced (think apes) and the range of communication as we know it today was impossible.
