Probably not the best, but I love coming back from London and passing through the Ridgeway to see Oxfordshire open up in front of me. Fills me with joy. strange diversion to take, unless of course you mean the Chilterns as you go through the cut on the M40 past Stokenchurch

I didn't know the ridgeway went all the way up there. Shows me right for trying to be clever. Anyway, assuming he does mean the cut on the M40, agree it is a great view of Oxfordshire, red kites circling above, and Didcot power station in the distance.

Drive through Holland (flat), Belgium (flat), Northern France (flat), Channel Tunnel (poor view out of the train), Kent (nice), M25 Uggh except for aircraft spotting at Heathrow) and M40 (okay).
All in all a pretty boring route but the quickest. Flying is not an option as all told it takes more time than driving.

Weekend games m25, m40.
Weeknight games, quite often drive past some of Londons best landmarks whilst stuck in traffic so I guess it could be called slightly scenic

Sadly, yes. Arggh... I used to live in Aber, those trains (if they can be called that) were awful. The 5.30 in the morning takes some stamina. Tell me about it! Histon 2 years ago was a 5:30 job. A 7 hour train journey involving the consumption of at least 9 red bulls to freeze my knackers off at possibly the coldest match I've ever attended watching us ship five. Then a brief overnight stay with a mate in Bury st Edmunds before a 7:30 start for the return journey. NEVER AGAIN! Even for oxford.

Coming in from just south of Reading is not that bad. Once through Reading it can only get better

Coming from W London i go M4 then off at J9 for Maidenhead and down through Henley, cut across to Nuneham Courtneay and then off at Sandford OT. It's a v scenic and pleasant route after you leave the M4.

A19, A1, MI8, M1, A42, M42, M40, A34, etc, etc!
Sometimes, if i feel really 'scenic', I come off the M1 at Northampton! (and try and avoid getting nabbed by those 2 bloody speed cameras in Northants!)
0n a good day - 3 hours 15 minutes 'door to door' - not too bad really!
Regards
