was appointed as Oxford United's manager exactly TWO YEARS ago.
Looking at where we were just two short years ago and where we are now suggests he has done a superb job.
I always remember what Steve Coppell said: " A manager needs at least five years at a football club......"

Amazing to think on that day back then some people called him a "cheap option"
Congratulations Chris, you've done a great job for this club and we're all very lucky to have you in charge of our club.
He must be the longest serving manager for a while too -Boris where are you?

One of the smartest decisions made by the club for a VERY long time!
Whatever the future holds, I'm grateful for what CW has done for OUFC.

Atkins or Wilder? That's an interesting one...
I know inevitably everyone will go for Wilder (including me) but let's not forget Atkins nearly got us out of this division in his last season, may well have done if it wasn't for Ka$$am...

Wilder has done a good job in 2 years but can he take us to the next level? Do settled sides exist these days? Long gone are the days when the majority of Jim Smith's side played most League, League Cup and League Cup second/third replays and FA Cup games some of them with their socks rolled around their ankles. After all the players need a rest mid-season don't they?

Wilder has done a good job in 2 years but can he take us to the next level? Are you an Oxford supporter? Do you go to many OUFC games? Why are you so negative? These and many other questions will never be answered by the clown that is MOOBS, OGITV, etc., et.

Amazing to think on that day back then some people called him a "cheap option" Most people called him the cheap option GRB and they were correct. Wilder has since gone on to re-negotiate his contracts on at least two further occasions as the club tried to stop rival clubs from sniffing around. He deserved those new contracts and I hope he continues to re-negotiate them dependent on the clubs success.

Fair play and much respect to Chris Wilder - I think we are all behind him. I think the people who are offended by his outbursts are the ones holding the club back anyway.

Very much agree with the fact that CW has done a great job, though. Really determined and works very hard.

I always remember what Steve Coppell said: " A manager needs at least five years at a football club......" He has done a good job, but be careful quoting Steve Coppell who resigned after 6 games at Manchester City and only 2 at Bristol City. The wrong manager can do a lot of damage in 5 years.

Exactly what I thought when I read that about Steve Coppell. Great job carried out at Reading but Bristol City must have rued the day when they look back and see how much David James is costing them
