I wonder how many 10s of those staff equate to the salary of each player? Shame they don't have a union as strong as the PFA then maybe the players would not have jobs too.

I wonder when (it’s not going to be “if”) WPL tell Us why Tufty is no longer employed by Oxford United.

For those of you that are not Oxvox members this is part of an email sent to members today:
Last week eight members of the OxVox committee held a meeting with Club owner Ian Lenagan and non-executive director Jim Rosenthal. Notes of the meeting have been written by the Trust and sent to Ian Lenagan over the weekend for comment, once he has added any comments we’ll get them out to Trust members and on to our website as soon as we can. Given the holiday period, we expect the notes to be available early January. We're thinking of holding a members' meeting in January to follow up issues raised, date will be confirmed after Christmas.

It's almost worth thinking about renewing my OV membership for that encounter.

Snake some time ago I am sure you said that just about the only thing you and I agreed on was that fans should become members of OV to give the Trust a strong mandate to make representations to the club. (or something similar). Why the change of heart?

To put the matter into better context then only about one in sixty people who went to Wembley last May were members of OV.

OK I guess it must have been someone else who I dont always see eye to eye with who made that comment. Not sure that the Wembley crowd is too relevant though. I had ten people with me of which at least half would probably consider themselves fans of other clubs (2 x Man Utd, 1 x Liverpool, 1 x Darlington and 1 x ?) who attend the odd game at Oxford and would never join OV. I am sure that other people had similar "guests" with them. However, I feel that it would be good if more people were committed to the organisation although I can also undersand some people's reservations as they will never please everyone all of the time.

When was the last time Ian Lenegan attended an Oxford game?

So after the minutes were released from the meeting between OxVox and Ian Lenegan, are people satisfied with what Mr Lenegan had to say?

He said exactly what you would expect him to say, nothing new. Conclusion
1) No more investment. 2) No tangible progress on the stadium purchase. 3) Youth team produced nothing he cant be blamed apparently as no youngsters want to come when were in the conference? 4) Club running at a profit and is being run well by his judgement.
I just think bear in mind how much more investment would be required to the potential increase in turnover etc it would be worth a sensible level of investment and I think it will require some investment to get us to the championship. We may make league 1 under the current structure but I think thats it.
However there are no other options especially bear in mind the club valuation so we are going to have to compete without anymore investment moving forward and I think in the long term that is unrealistic. Therefore the answer is the stadium purchase to enable us to compete and I dont believe we have made any serious progress and I think the club believe that because the valuation of the club has come back at £8-9 million they are thinking that kassam will reduce his demands from £13 to meet nearer say £10 million and that just will not happen in my opinion. He wants £13 million and when you look at the cost of Chesterfield etc that is not an unreasonable valuation.
So in summary we have a club that must now be completely self funding until we buy the stadium and that wont happen making it difficult to compete with most of our rivals. just look at the shrews figures on another thread.
Are you happy with IL comments John - biggest question do yo believe the owners have the capacity to get us our stadium on sensible progressive terms or do we think we can compete as IL has indicated without owning the stadium?

Surely the Shrewsbury figures illustrate that moving forward is not just about throwing money at the club or "investment" as you call it. Shrewsbury own their stadium outright with no debt, have had millions of pounds in cash to spend, generate huge turnover with no interest or rent payable but that has not got them far. They should be competing at League One and could probably hold their own financially in the Championship but they need a management team who are capable of promotion.
I believe that we can compete in League Two with our current financial situation and can probably hold our own in League One. As you say the Championship is a different prospect but once we are in League One then the club will be more attractive to investors. One step at a time is, in my view, the best strategy or we will end up like Plymouth, Portsmouth, Southampton and many other similar clubs.

I wouldnt say im happy. I think Ian Lenegan has said the answers he thinks we want to hear. I dont think under his ownership, the club will go any further than a relegation fight in league one, due to lack of investment at the right time. As for the stadium, i dont believe Ian Lenegan will aquire the stadium on sensible progressive terms. If he does get it, im not sure how much Oxford United will benefit with the debt level to do with buying the stadium
