Right, rather than start another thread about our current predicament - because it's too depressing - thought I'd start one about Gillingham's rather extraordinary striker. Has anyone ever seen anyone like him on a professional football field? Had to be at least 20 stone. Not as slow as you'd expect him to be, but clearly only has about three runs in him over the course of a game - after which he's knackered and needs to be subbed. Course having said that, it was utterly impossible to shift him off the ball and his touch and vision were excellent. Makes you wonder what he could have achieved with his career if he was even slightly willing to keep himself in shape. And obviously we defended him just about as badly as is possible in the first half hour. Made lame attempts to knock him off the ball and entirely failed to track the runners off him. Doh! I have turned this into a 'weren't we crap yesterday' thread after all......

Was he the one we were shouting "you fat B******" at, which made him turn and laugh and completely miss seeing a ball coming to him in the box?

A CF who could bring a ball under control and set up others to attack. As for fat I would suggest that he was as fit as a butchers dog. We need a player like him at the club.

Akinfenwa was at Swansea with Lee Trundle. Big lump (like Heskey) and hard to get the ball off. He is at the end of his career now though as you could see.

he had a very good game to be honest. Held the ball up superb all game and good flicks lay offs to Cody McDonald. They worked well together if I'm being brutally honest

Probably the best moment of a miserable afternoon! Without doubt the highlight of the day... They didn't show that on the football league show?
