"I am very disappointed with the fans. I invite every single one of them who is going to boo to stay at home, because I don't want them and I don't accept that.
At the end of the season they can give their verdict to the team. I won't have a problem if we do our lap at the end and they give boos. It means we didn't do well.
....
The problem is that they are not realistic. They think it is too easy to play football. The proper supporters are the ones who support the team every single minute of the season. ..."
[Gus Poyet - Brighton manager - Football League Paper today] Imagine the furore if Wilder came out with that!

I can understand Poyet being annoyed but, hells bells.
'They think it is too easy to play football' !!!!
Earning a good wage to do something that would be most fan's boyhood dream - play professional football?
I'm also not sure they'll do a lap of the pitch at the end of the season if they get relegated........

I bet the chairman is not very pleased that the manager is telling fans to stay at home.

''They think it is too easy to play football'' Some make it more difficult than it should be, imo! Sounds to me like Poyet is just telling supporters to expect less in the way of Quality football.

I bet the chairman is not very pleased that the manager is telling fans to stay at home. Probably doesn't affect gates as due to their limited capacity I think they sell out so if boo boys stay home others will take their places.
